tvN’s “Hotel Del Luna” has seen an impressive response since the drama began airing in July. It continues to break its own viewership ratings records with every episode and has topped Good Hotel Del Luna has been one of the best Korean dramas of the year. The masterful blend of humour, drama, romance and horror has been expertly crafted and despite Chan Sung not always matching the brilliance of Man-Wol, there’s enough here to make for a thoroughly enjoyable series nonetheless. I can forgive The Good Doctor as you can stretch it out with so many different medical cases, but the entire point of Hotel Del Luna is ManWol "relearning" her human side that she has hidden beneath the cold facade (which itself that was a product of experiencing different experiences in her long years). Once again Hotel Del Luna delivers a really good episode. The blend of humour, romance and drama works perfectly and Man Wol’s acting really helps ignite the series. The subtle facial expressions, the ending segment with her composure wavering and all those tiny hints at a more vulnerable side under her facade is conveyed beautifully here. I watched Hotel del Luna (HDL) for the first time when it aired on TV in 2019 and rewatched it 6 more times until now and for me, personally, it is the best series out there even after 3+ years. I think everyone has a movie or a show that changed their life in a way or another, that made them view some things differently.

It is more lighthearted and we will definitely finish it but not with the same sense of urgency as Hotel del Luna. Truth be told we will most probably finish Hotel del Luna a second time before we finish My Girlfriend is a Gumiho. Manwol and Changsung’s chemistry, Manwol’s stunning dresses, the visuals and the story is just too good.
